Joe O fought with Jack Womer. The opening quote is from the last page of Jack's Womer's book. I miss him dearly and am rereading his book because it reflects his voice.
My husband was in Viet Nam with a young man named Joe “O”. He calls him “O”.. same last name and lives near Meadowlands Raceway ! Could it be your Joe “O” son? Wouldn’t that be something!
Billy Curley and Ray Curley both served in Vietnam.
Their youngest brother, Joe Curley, was never in the service. He worked worldwide on U.S. Marine bases running their recreation departments as a civilian.
I’m sorry for the misunderstanding I made.. and Thank You for your response. I read your substack in its entirety. My reference was on Corporal Joe Oleskiewicz in your opening ..(WWII).
