Maybe it’s because I live in UT and am aware of flash floods, but if I saw anything like that, I’d turn around immediately. I’m shocked you have to make a video telling people not to drive through this.
I live in AZ and evvvvvvery year there are rescues and deaths from people driving across a flooded waterway. There’s a whole big PSA about it but STILL.
Unfortunately, this is universal, here in Brasil we have our share of tragedies during flood season with people who value more their convenience than their family lives.
I used to be friends with a Franciscan monk who brought food and Christ to the Indians in Brazil when the government was killing them in the 1950's to steal their land.
You might enjoy reading the Obrien Chronicle written by an Irish landlord kicked off his land in Ireland who talked his way out of prison and took a ship to Brazil.

I tried driving through a flash flood in Arizona once. The Volkswagen “VW Bug” ahead of me made it through. I had forgotten about the VW ads on TV claiming that they were water tight (could float.) This was back in the 1970’s. A guy in a truck with a wench happened by and graciously pulled us out. The expensive camera on the floor behind our seats was ruined in the muddy water though.
We have this in SW Mississippi too. US Hwy 61 is collapsing where I live. They keep trying to hide it, but they have now have had to put out orange cones for the county’s utter ignorance.
You may think you have a big ass truck and you'll be fine. But you never know if the road has crumbled underneath that water and then you'll sink deep into the water and you won't be able to get out and you may get injured or injured those around you etc et cetera.
Flood waters can conceal a missing roadway. Embankment can fail. Debris can dam against a bridge and cause support failures. Stay safe. Turn around. Don’t drown.
A foot of water turns your car into a boat with no rudder.
True that.

As I said, see Disaster News for multiple videos of people driving through flood waters all over the world.

I am no dam expert, but that does not look good.
It is not.

As with so many American dams, it will only be improved after it fails.
In American terms, it is an ancient dam.
It is in need of serious engineering and hydrological fixes

Agree.
That is why I mentioned Disaster News. You can find videos of floods there daily where drivers just plow right into the water.

What an important post!
Thanks.
Oh and don’t wait for FEMA to help….

Fortunate you found a Good Samaritan. You were also fortunate not to have drowned.
Some people, like news reporters, find it very exciting. Whatever floats their boat.
Great pun.

Be safe and Good Luck Maryland!
Thank you for getting the word out and being a first responder 🙏☮️❤️🇺🇲🇺🇲
Keep in mind with unknowable flooded streets or roads.
‘Turn around, don't drown’
Beavers ate your road
South Carolina has ONE dam Inspector for thousands of small private farms. Unless they “trimmed the fat”
