Some of My (Own) Substack Summer Reading sans the Corporate Interference
“An unmentionable user is mentioned in this post. At least one user mentioned in this posts has mentionability disabled.” Say what!?
According to the the Substack corporate algorithm that just sent me the statistics below, I read a lot of other author’s Substack creations. In a graphic they sent, they list that my “Substack Summer” includes:
Substacks Read: 155
Posts Read: 738
Words Read: 1, 091,105
Then it listed my top Substacks as Deep State Marauder, How to Subvert Subversion by Yuri Bezmenov, and In the Raw by Raw Egg Nationalist.
When I tried to post it to my Substack, rather than it posting, I received this odd message from the Substack corporate algorithm. “An unmentionable user is mentioned in this post. At least one user mentioned in this posts has mentionability disabled.”
No idea what that means, but “mentionability” is a very funny word and getting around corporate algorithm’s is always fun. So, I decided to see if I could copy and paste and maybe beat the algorithm. No.
Hmmm…maybe Substacks corporate code to block “mentionability” is in the graphic. So I deleted it. Still, it would not post and I got the odd message again. “An unmentionable user is mentioned in this post. At least one user mentioned in this posts has mentionability disabled.”
So…I deleted the three “top Substacks” and the rest of it is below.

Why I Like Substack for Information, Despite it’s Wokeness
Substack is woke and pushes woke agendas in notices they send to me. That’s OK. So far, they still enable freedom of speech. As long as they do, I will celebrate my abandoning Facebook, the old Twitter (not X), Instagram, and all the prior platforms I was on before they went authoritarian and blocked free speech.
I know Substack is woke because they sent me a notice of political commentators I might want to follow for information on the 2024 election. They were all woke and Left, but for 1, for a pretend balance I reckon.
That’s OK. So far, they still allow free speech and provide a platform for remarkable free thinkers. As long as they do, I will tolerate their Left bias.
Other Substack’s I Read Regularly
There are so many remarkable Substack’s I have to limit my time reading them or I would not get more important things done, like playing with my grandchildren. I apologize to others I did not include below but have much enjoyed. I realized I could have extended this list for dozens of others but my grandchildren want to play. In no particular order, here are a few others I enjoy in addition to the three above. I thank you all for your hard work and intelligent analysis.
I am honored to be included in this list!
